Ancient hand writing of the Malays

Malay people have forget and don't even know that this is their hand writing before we have the modern hand writing like nowadays. It is believe that Malay people have four type of hand writing before that is Aksara Rencong, Kawi, Palava and Jawi. Aksara Rencong, Kawi and palava have been forgotten by the Malays while Jawi is very hard to find peole that still using this hand writing.

Aksara Rencong is the most oldest of Malay hand writing and is been using by ancient Malay people since the third B.C. This hand writing is created by them from their observation from the nature and that is the reason why the shape of the letter look very familiar with us. After that, people are start using this hand writing and write on the pulp, animal skin and stone.

After Islam came to the Malay islands, they found that it is hard for them to write about Islam and Hadis in Aksara Rencong, So they start to assimilation all the Arabic letter to write about that and Jawi hand writing is born. Aksara Rencong is been forgotten and it is believe that there only three people that still can read Aksara Rencong and none of them is Malay.
